This week was just as confusing as last week, a little less exhausting, but I still didn't understand anything! I was very excited to meet someone new though. Olivia introduced me to a student here who was an exchange student in the U.S.A. last year. Jan (pronounced Yan) took Olivia and I to his haircut and then we went and got coffee in Old Town. I was a great way to break up the week.
It wasn't a very eventful week but today I had a couple short (but awesome) conversations with some of the girls in my class. People seem to be warming up a little bit more.
My host family will be bringing me to Gdansk (I know. How do you say that???) tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to it. It looks like a beautiful city! and there is some history there too, this is where the second world war started on September first, 1939. I will make sure I bring my camera so I can share pictures with you next week!

I'm glad to hear that you had awesome conversations with some school friends. It's no surprise that they are warming up to you! You are such a bundle of energy. You also met Jan. He'll likely have great stories to share of his experience in the States....And, you had coffee! That's a good thing right there!
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, you are going to Gdansk! I got chills when you mentioned that WW2 started there. What a powerful and emotional place to set foot. I hope you can take many pictures and capture the beauty of Gdansk as it is today, out from the shadows of its painful past. Peace :)
Yes! It was refreshing to talk to some more people! Jan was very nice and I think it will be awesome to hear more of his stories from the states! The coffee was a very good thing :)
